Tech Flats
This collection was inspired by some of the hikes that I have been on in the last year as well as some of my older designs that I made throughout the years while attending school. The collection is made up of 5 looks including a fleece cardigan, snowboard pants, insulated jacket, fleece pants, long sleeve shirt, insulated pants, fleece hoodie, shorts, rain jacket and rain pants. The color story is mostly earth tones with black and grey mixed in which is inspired from the colors that I saw on the various hikes that I went on. From start to finish this collection took me about two months including the designing, tech flats, pattern making, samples, and construction of the final garments.
Nike Doernbecher box for Dario Villaseñor Valdivia

Background
As an employee of the Nike Woodburn outlet store I was chosen along with five other employees to design and construct a custom box for one of the six kids that were a part of the 2022 Doernbecher Freestyle program.
Design Story
I chose to work on a box for Dario because after seeing his design for the Huarache and reading his story I had the perfect design in mind. The outside of the box was meant to match the story and design of his shoes and the inside of the box was more personal and included a collage of his own animations. For the design of the outside of the box I decided to use a teddy bear texture for his swoosh to resemble the one that he had while he was in the hospital. I also designed the family orange tree on the bottom of the box because of his love of oranges and his love for his family. Moving on to the inside of the box I created a collage of animations that he created and has on his youtube channel which is Atomic Oranges (look him up he does amazing animations). I also included the saying Siempre Fuerte (always strong) which is a very important saying to him. I also included his logo for his Atomic Oranges youtube channel on the bottom of the inside of the box.
Conclusion
The box's that my co-workers and myself made was put on display at the Doernbecher release at the Portland Nike store and was later given to the children with a bunch of Nike accessories inside. It was an honor to be chosen for this project and it was inspiring to hear Dario's story and how much he was able to overcome.
